Water main break floods Heritage
On January 2 at 2:30 a.m. Principal Ms. Stacey Riendeau received a call concerning a major water main break and news that there was flooding under the swimming pool.
Heritage took immediate action by shutting the water off and bringing in contractors. They fixed the problem in sixteen hours by pumping water and mud out of the lower areas of the pool, moving furniture and drying everything out.
Unfortunately, after that, there were more water leakage problems in rooms 322, 214 and the ceilings in the main office that have now been resolved.
“The district and corporate restoration worked around the clock to get everything fixed before school started. The staff meeting on Monday went as planned and delaying the semester was never in question,” says Principal Riendeau.
Water was originally rushing in at 150 gallons per minute and there was a 25-30 foot deep hole made near the front of the building. After pumping out all of the water and filling in the hole with cement, Heritage is back to normal.by
