Belles dance to state
The Heritage Liberty Belles set up their path to state by taking third at the Continental League competition on November 13.
The Belles won state in the jazz division last year and this year they took third in the jazz division at leagues.
“We were pleased with third place. Competition is extremely tough in the Continental League,” comments Coach Julie Cantwell.
Next up for the Belles is the state competition in December. Until state the Belles will be practicing and improving from leagues.
“We will look at what the judges have told us to work on and apply that to our dance, and after that hope for the best. I think our team was amazing at league. It’s great to see how far we have come in such a short time. It’s always hard though, in dance there’s no definitive winner, it’s always circumstantial, what the judges like one day may change the next, but we do what we can to put on our best routine,” comments captain Lauren Max ’15.
The state competition takes place on December 5 at the Denver Coliseum, head out to support the Belles as they defend their championship in the jazz category.by
