With the NCAA basketball season approaching the home stretch, the most electric 18 days in sports rears its head once again. March Madness 2016 is soon to be upon us and teams must take advantage of the remaining regular season to secure their hopes of being one of the 64 teams at a shot at the national title.
With the conclusion of a relatively successful season for Eagles Athletics, two Heritage wrestlers have singled themselves out. Seniors Jared Todd and Alejandro Gandara represented Heritage in the 2015 CHSAA State Wrestling Championship.
This year, the Eagles look to follow up their impressive lacrosse season. Coming into this year the team is looking to replace five varsity seniors. Heading this year’s lax team are seniors Keaton Komatz and Landon Baird.
With the school year kicking off and the Heritage community once again getting into its usual groove, a number of new staff have added themselves to the Heritage population. Among them is Mr. Alejandro Tyler in the Math Department.
This past weekend the sports world experienced one of the largest boxing events in recent history. The fight took place between legendary fighters, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. The fight has gotten such prolific publicity because it had potential to be the end of Mayweather’s 48 fight win streak.
In 1969, humankind made possibly its largest achievement to date. The United States put 12 people on the moon from 1969 to 1972. For the first time in human history, man was capable of leaving this earth and returning safely.
The 2014 eagles basketball team is off to a promising 3-0 start and is looking to add to their record in the most anticipated rivalry game of the season vs. Arapahoe.
After losing to Columbine in the CHSAA 2014 ice hockey championships, the Eagles are eager to begin a new season. The team practices at the Ice Ranch, drilling their fundamentals such as passing, shooting, and skating.
